Beauty on the Danube Beach | The Palais Augarten # 2019

Many people only know the park that belongs to one of the most beautiful palaces in the heart of Vienna: the Palais Augarten, today the headquarters of the Vienna Boys' Choir and the porcelain factory of the same name, looks back into a history that lasts almost as long as that of the Augarten.

Maria Theresa's father, Charles VI, had already had it built. The palace fell to the imperial family under Maria Theresa's son Joseph II. It was the scene of major celebrations and meetings until the end of the monarchy, including the Vienna World Exhibition in 1873, when Franz Joseph received his Russian counterpart Tsar Alexander II here.

Art connoisseur and ORF-III presenter Karl Hohenlohe will be exploring once again the most magnificent architectural treasures that Vienna has to offer in the second season of "Vieler Herren Häuser" (the Austria's Noble Mansions). The other four destinations lead the moderator into the Albertina, the Belvedere Palace, the Park Hotel Schönbrunn and to the versatile Palais am Schwarzenbergplatz.
